Description
Aster Symphyotrichum novae-angliae 'Purple Dome' has eye catching, profuse blooms of dark purple flowers in the fall; late season nectar source for bees and butterflies; full sun; 1.5' - 2'; winter hardiness zone 5-8; plug.

Just when you think the garden is over, this group of plants pop into blooom and provide color until a hard freeze.  (Note:  Cutting back about 1/2 the stem height by July 4th will help keep them from growing too tall and flopping over when in bloom).

Our pollinators are so important to the sustainability of our gardens and food crops for insect and birds and if each of us participates in healthy gardening practices and chooses some of the pollinator attracting plants, we can collectively make a HUGE difference.
